This is a really fascinating read, and would be a good resource for a science classroom. Here are some things I learned:
- There are air filters running constantly in the space station (not surprising) that make a loud fan noise that the astronauts compare to “living inside a giant vacuum cleaner.”
- If the astronauts don’t sleep near a ventilator fan, they can wake up surrounded by a bubble of their own exhaled carbon dioxide.
- There are showers on the ISS.
- If they don’t strap themselves in while sleeping, the ventilator fans will inevitably pull them over.
I have never appreciated gravity so much in my life.
